Meet Coach: An AI That Discovers Talent

Most hiring tools are built to screen people out. Coach is built to bring people in. Instead of filtering candidates out like existing AI tools, Coach has a lifelike, personalized conversation to uncover what workers actually know, including skills that never make it onto a resume. Coach then takes those inputs and matches workers to opportunities that fit their experiences.

Because the problem was never a lack of talent. It's a lack of discovery.

The problem we're solving

Depending on industry and experience level, job seekers today submit an average of 32 to 200 applications before getting one offer¹ - and most never even get to talk to someone. Studies suggest that roughly 3% of applications result in an interview². Nearly half say the search damages their mental health - people wondering what's wrong with them after getting auto-rejected month after month³.

Businesses are struggling too. 45–60% of job seekers now use AI to write resumes⁴. While usage is widespread, up to 60% of hiring managers dislike purely AI-generated applications, often rejecting them due to a lack of personalization and generic, repetitive content⁵.

The result is a system where workers game AI and businesses use AI to screen people out. 

The cost of all this isn't just a painful job search or difficulty finding a suitable candidate. When hiring is built around speed and filters rather than fit, people end up in the wrong roles. Gallup's latest research puts employee engagement at a 10-year low. That's not a motivation problem. It's a discovery problem: workers aren’t reaching their full potential because they’re not in the right roles. And it's bad for workers, businesses, and the whole economy.

Why this problem exists

The reason AI gets deployed this way comes down to perspective. Most modern hiring systems are designed to fill one position at one company as fast as possible. There's no incentive to understand the whole person. Screen them out quickly and move on.

Starting with hospitality

Hospitality operators have long struggled with inconsistent labor. You bring someone in and don't really know what they know until they show up. That uncertainty is anxiety-inducing.
